Pig breeding
In the Republic of Belarus, there are 2.8 million heads of pigs in all categories of farms, including 2.5 million in agricultural organizations, there are 118 complexes for the production of marketable pork and 12 breeding stock-breeding entities engaged in breeding pigs.

" Grodno region (Landras, Yorkshire, Duroc), a branch of the SCC “Zadneprovsky” of OJSC “Orsha KHP” of the Orsha region (Landras, Yorkshire), OJSC “Vasilishki” of the Shchuchinsky district (Landras, Yorkshire); OJSC "Breeding factory" Timonovo "of the Klimovichi district (large white breed)
- hybrid breeding center - 3 breeding farms: OJSC Zapadny of the Brest region, a branch of the SCC Zadneprovsky of OJSC Orsha KHP of the Orsha region, OJSC Vasilishki of the Shchuchinsky district (large white, Belarusian meat, yorkshire, landrace, duroc),
- pedigree reproducer - 5 pedigree farms: State Enterprise “ZhodinoAgroPlemElita” of Smolevichi district, OJSC “SEC“ Zarechye ”of Rogachevsky (large white, Belarusian black-and-white, Belarusian meat, landrace), KUSP“ Chernyakhovsky-Agro ”of Korelichsky district (Yorkshire, Landrace) OJSC “Krasnaya Buda” of the Dobrush region (large white breed of pigs), CJSC “Klevitsa” of the Berezinsky district (Belarusian meat breed of pigs).
Two pedigree farms (ZhodinoAgroPlemElita state enterprise, Smolevichi district, GCC Zarechye OJSC, Rogachev district) have 676 heads of gene pool of pigs: Belarusian black and white breed - 148, Belarusian meat breed - 528 heads.
The number of breeding herds (purebred sows) in breeding farms is 11.0 thousand heads.
Breeding herds of breeds raised in the republic are characterized by good reproductive qualities: multiple fertility - 11-12 piglets per farrow, milk yield - 56-64 kg, the number of piglets for weaning - 10-11 piglets. Annually, pig farms and commodity farms of the republic pedigree farms can supply about 10.0 thousand breeding pigs with high genetic potential.
There are 4 breeding and genetic centers in the republic (stations for artificial insemination of pigs) whose production capacities are designed for keeping 192-240 heads. They provide 60 percent of the needs of the domestic market for sperm products of boars of different breeds (Yorkshire, Duroc, Landrace) and breeding (Danish, French, Norwegian, German, Irish), with a breeding value index of more than 110 units.
