There are currently 6 such laboratories in the republic - one in each region.

Dairy cattle
The republic's dairy cattle breeding is represented by Holstein and black-motley breeds, which have a high genetic productivity potential. Cattle of this breed is practically the only source of milk and beef in the republic. Dairy cattle breeding plants are located in all territorial regions of the republic.
The number of cows in breeding farms totals 65,000 heads, including with a yield of 9,000 kg of milk per 305 days of lactation 19,960 heads. Bull-producing cows are used as mothers to receive repair bull-calves of new generations and donors.
The direction of selection is moving not only to increase the productivity of the livestock, but also to increase longevity, and hence the health of animals. For the implementation of breeding programs, the Belplemzhivobedinenie annually holds the fixing of the seed of high-value breeding bulls to the breeding stock. Received young bull-calf breeding undergoes thorough veterinary and livestock selection, as a result of which only 20% of the bull-calf is sold to the republic’s elevators. In large-scale breeding, no more than 1% of pedigree repair bull-calves born in a year are involved.
