Dairy farming

The republic's dairy cattle breeding is represented by the Belarusian black-motley cattle breed, which has a high genetic productivity potential. Cattle of this breed is practically the only source of milk and beef in the republic.

Beef cattle

The system of pedigree work in cattle breeding of the republic provides for the bulk of beef to be obtained from dairy and combined cattle and industrial crossbreeding of planned cows with specialized bulls.

Pig breeding

In the Republic of Belarus, there are 2.9 million heads of pigs in all categories of farms, including 2.5 million in agricultural organizations, of which 290 thousand in pedigree farms.

Horse breeding

There are about 34 thousand horses in the republic. Despite the small share (about 5%), the basis of the industry is the breeding direction of the use of horses. Currently, 18 pedigree agricultural enterprises for horse breeding are certified and operate.

Sheep breeding

Sheep breeding as one of the branches of animal husbandry has always been an integral part of the country's national economic complex. Currently, sheep breeding in Belplemzhivobedinenie is represented by RUE “Vitebsk breeding enterprise” where there are 772 heads (adults and young animals) of Romanov breed sheep.

Embryo transplantation

One of the most important sources of accelerated obtaining of high-value offspring from outstanding breeding animals is embryo transplantation.
Annually, more than 100 calf grafts are received at Belplemzhivobedineniy enterprises.

Dairy Labs

An indispensable condition for the implementation of the breeding programs of the republic is the availability of modern laboratories for the comprehensive analysis of the quality indicators of milk for the content of fat, protein and somatic cells. There are currently 6 such laboratories in the republic - one in each region.

Professional excellence competition

07.09.2021

On September 3, 2021, in the city of Molodechno, on the basis of the educational institution "Molodechno Trade and Economic College of Belcoopsoyuz", the Republican competition of skills of workers in artificial insemination of animals was held.

The competition was held in 4 nominations:

"The best artificial insemination in cattle."
"The best artificial insemination in cattle.
" Best pig artificial insemination operator.
Best regional bovine artificial insemination group.

A total of 42 applicants participated in the competition, who were selected at the regional level.

Based on the results of the competition:

In the nomination "The best operator of artificial insemination of cattle" 1st place was taken by Alla Nikolaevna Shvayakova (OJSC "Hotily-Agro", Postavy region). {{1} }

In the nomination "The best operator in artificial insemination of pigs" 1st place was taken by Okulovich Maria Vatslavovna (OJSC "Agrokombinat Vasilishki", Shuchinsky district).

In the nomination "The best link in artificial insemination of animals" 1st place was taken by: Balaba Roman Vladimirovich, Dudinskaya Lyubov Viktorovna, Petrashkevich Natalya Vladimirovna Zhodishka branch of UE Smorgonsky Combine of Bread Products Smorgon District).

In the nomination "The best regional group for artificial insemination of farm animals" 1st place was taken by:

Chemodanova Yulia Vladimirovna, Lyapunov Sergey Mikhailovich (PMC "Orsha breeding station").

The winners were awarded with diplomas and cash prizes in the amount of:

first place - 170 base values each;
second place - 140 base values each;
third place - 110 base units each.

In awarding the winners of the Republican competition of skill among workers in artificial insemination animals were attended by: Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Krupko Ivan Ivanovich, member of the board of the "Belarusian Union of Women" Kotkovets Nadezhda Nikolaevna, representatives of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and Molodechno District Executive Committee.
