HORSE FESTIVAL-2021
On the third Sunday of August, after a two-year break, the V horse Festival "Polesskaya Niva-2021" took place, where a specialist of the Belplemzhivobedinenie traditionally took part in the work of the jury.
This year, for the first time, a representative of the breeding farm of the Minsk region – SE "Zhodinoagroplemelita" of the Smolevichi district took part in the horse sledding competitions. The stallion-producer of the Belarusian harness breed named Buran was born in the stud farm "Korelichi" of the Korelichi district and is the owner of a rare silver-bay-savras suit.
In addition to the traditional program, for the first time, a brood of horses of the Polessky aboriginal population was held with an assessment of their breeding qualities. The best, as expected, was the stallion-producer of JSC "Polesskaya niva" bay Oleshnik.
Also, one of the main events of the festival was a "round table" on the problem of preserving local horse breeds "Local animal breeds are the national wealth of Belarus". The conservation of endangered local animal breeds is part of the obligations of the countries-parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, to which the Republic of Belarus joined in 1993.
A specialist of the Belplemzhivobedinenie made a report on the state of the horse breeding industry in Belarus, including the Polessky aboriginal horse population.
